I recently moved out of my apartment and had to cancel my Comcast. I called them up and shut it down with no problems. A week later, I get an automated message on my voicemail alerting me that I haven’t returned my equipment to them and that I will be charged a fee if I don’t return their modem within the week. God fucking damn it Comcast, I knew I hadn’t heard the last of you. I even mentioned in my last Comcast blog post that the modem issue was never fully resolved.
I called up Comcast the following day and of course start out with the India call center. God forbid they have a phone number for their returns office. After trying to explain my problem to the call center, I am starting to find that it is really hard to prove that I don’t have this mysterious modem. I just unleash into the poor guy about how I had this problem a year ago and how I had to take this modem to the Comcast returns office to have them examine my modem and determine that it was not theirs. Well apparently no one fucking logged this shit on my account, because it is still a mystery. This guy clearly didn’t want to talk with me anymore, so he transferred me to their billing department. I would have loved to just have this number in the first place, but the shitty automated message told me that I needed to use the 1-800-COMCAST number.
I start talking to the billing guy and he informs me that I am not being charged for anything. I just have my basic $44.99 bill and nothing else. I try to explain to him my story, but it means nothing to him. He sees no charges and just thinks I am an over dramatic asshole. Nothing was resolved, I just have to take Comcast’s word for it that I won’t get a charge. I know for certain there will be a Comcast part 3.
